Arkansas Snaps Three Game Losing Streak With Win Over Tennessee

Arkansas snaps a losing skid with a 24-20 win over the Tennessee Volunteers on the road.

KNOXVILLE, TENN. (KFSM) – The Arkansas Razorbacks seal their second win of the season with a 24-20 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers snapping a three game losing skid on the road in Knoxville, Tenn.

The game started out quickly looking bad for the Hogs. On the opening kickoff, Tennessee’s Evan Berry returns it 96 yards for a touchdown, and Arkansas starts the game in a deficit.

Alex Collins had two touchdowns during Saturday’s game while rushing for 154 yards. This is the third straight game for the running back with 150 or more yards. Freshman running back Rawleigh Williams contributed with 100 yards on 14 carries.

On the passing side of the game, Brandon Allen was 11-24 for 219 yards, and 1 touchdown. That touchdown came on a 33-yard pass to Dominique Reeds in the second quarter. Greenwood native Drew Morgan had his second game in a row of triple digit receiving yards, with 110 against the Vols.

Arkansas did have a little trouble from Tennessee on a blocked field goal in the third quarter, and failed to convert a fake field goal attempt from the Tennesse 10 yard-line in the fourth quarter.

Tennessee’s Joshua Dobbs came away with 232 passing yards, and Jalen Hurd ran for 90 yards.
