BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men on suspicion of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit content involving a child.
Jeffrey Owen Smith, 41, bonded out on Tuesday (Oct. 13) at $25,000. A probable cause affidavit stated Smith had downloaded 222 files between April 2014 and August 2015 with terminology consistent with child pornography.
Jose Martinez, 51, was arrested on suspicion of the same charge Monday afternoon (Oct. 12) and is behind bars at the Benton County jail on a $50,000 bond.
Online work from the office’s Cyber-Crimes Division brought up the names of both suspects as potential candidates for investigations.
