SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – According to an arrest report, the Springdale Police Department arrested Russell Norsworthy, 54, who faces charges of sexual indecency with a child.
According to the report, Norsworthy was accused of inappropriately fondling a teenager. The report says Norsworthy previously knew the child before the accusations occurred.
Norsworthy is accused of fondling the teenager’s buttocks, breasts, and genitals. The child told her mother, and police, the inappropriate sexual contact happened several times over a nine month period, according to the release.
When interviewed by police, Norsworthy “displayed signs of deception, and weakly denied the allegations.” The report said Norsworthy later asked police to “arrest him so he could hurry up and get back to taking care of his family.” The report also added Norsworthy showed no surprise when being arrested, and asked if he would be able to leave Northwest Arkansas, in order to complete one of his trucking deliveries.
Norsworthy is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
