Arkansas Wins In Fourth Overtime Over Auburn 54-46

Arkansas escapes a quadruple overtime against Auburn to win 54-46 for their third straight SEC home win.

 

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas picks up it’s third straight SEC win at Razorback Stadium on Saturday with a fourth overtime win 54-46 over Auburn.

The Hogs struck quick to start. Arkansas went 75 yards on seven plays where Dominique Reed scored on an 11 yard run.  They’ll add to that in the second quarter on an 23 yard pass from Brandon Allen to Jeremy Sprinkle.

But, Auburn answered right back with 30 seconds left before the half marching down the field 96 yards on their drive. Arkansas took a 14-7 lead into the half. the tigers would keep the momentum rolling and tie things up.

Arkansas freshman running back Rawleigh Williams III was injured in the third quarter and was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons after a neck injury.  But the hogs didn’t let that stop the on their drive, and Alex Collins found the endzone  on a seven yard run to give them the lead back.

But Auburn is going to fight to the end in this one. They drive 93 yards down the field to once again score and tie things up.

The Razorbacks will eat up the finals minutes of the game and settle for a field goal with 1:07 left in the game to take a 24-21 lead, and leave Auburn with no timeouts left. But, it was too much time left and Auburn managed to send this one into overtime tying it on a field goal with :04 left in the game.

Auburn scores on three plays during their drive to lead 31-24, Hogs find the endzone on a pass to Greenwood native Drew Morgan on fourth and three for a six yard touchdown to send it to a second overtime. Arkansas made it 38-31 on a three yard touchdown from Kody Walker in double overtime. Auburn answers right back to make it 38-38 and go to a third overtime.

Tigers score on a run from Peyton Barber for six yards. White finds a wide open man on the two-point conversion for the 46-38 lead.  Arkansas answers back on fourth and two to send it to a fourth overtime.

Allen finds Morgan on the first play who picks 20 yards and finds the endzone. Arkansas easily picks up the two point conversion. Auburn can’t answer back, and the Hogs escape with a win.
