For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Saturday (October 24), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Emily Gassman with the Girl Scouts Diamond Council. She said local United Way funding goes a long way in planning for field trips and covering operations cost. She also said they are always in need of volunteers and are flexible in scheduling.
The girl scouts chapter of the greater Fort Smith area serves about one thousand girls.
Moreover, Gassman said there aren't plans to release new Girl Scout cookies this year. Information on the diamond council could be found by clicking on this link.
