FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday (Nov. 1) and that means a little more sunlight in the morning, and an extra hour of sleep.

"I really enjoy falling back as daylight saving ends because we get more sleep,” Rachel Parish said after completing a yoga class.

“While we do get an extra hour of sleep, it's still messing up our rhythm,” Ashley Flippin said.

Flippin is the lead yoga instructor at McP Hot Yoga in Fort Smith, and she said there's a few things you can do to prepare for the end of Daylight Saving Time to ensure a solid night of sleep.

She said stretching before bed is important.

“Your muscles are a little tight when you get up, but also when you go to sleep -- releasing some of that energy that's built up throughout your day, and your muscles -- it’s a great way to kind of signal to your body it's time to relax, it's time to chill out."

Flippin said her next tip involves numbers -- but it's not counting sheep.

“Four, seven, eight” is a breathing excursive Flippin suggests before bed.

She said it's all about how you breathe when your head hits the pillow.

"Breathe in through the nose for a count of four; you hold the breath for a count of seven, and you breathe out through the mouth for a count of eight,” she said. “You want to put your tongue just at the top of the teeth, where the gum hits the teeth and that's where you're breathing out when you exhale through the mouth."

Parish said because she gets an extra hour of sleep, the only things she'll be needing are a pillow and a blanket.

“I don't usually do anything to prepare for it -- I just enjoy it,” she said.

She also suggests going to bed at the same time you normally do.

The time officially changes at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
