Arkansas Wins Homecoming 63-28 Against UT Martin

Rain doesn’t stop Arkansas on homecoming with a 63-28 victory over UT Martin.

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Arkansas adds another win with a 63-28 victory over UT Martin Saturday during homecoming.

It took the Razorbacks only 75 yards and 10 plays to get Alex Collins into the endzone on their first drive of the game. Jared Cornelius also made his return from a broken arm during the Texas Tech game known in that opening drive.

Rohan Gains will quickly give the Hogs the ball back after intercepting the Skyhawks on a double pass trick play. The Hogs do it again on UT Martin's following drive with an interception from Brooks Ellis for a 28 yard return.  Collins would run a 6-yard touchdown in after the turnover for a 14-0 lead.

Collins would be all Arkansas needed to find the endzone. The running back scored his third touchdown of the day with just more than 10 minutes left in the half from five-yards out and a 21 point lead.

The Skyhawks crack the scoreboard after marching down the field 86-yards. Jaimiee Bowe scores from 26 yards out in the second quarter.

Damon "Duwop" Mitchell scores his first career touchdown on 49-yard pass from Brandon Allen as the Skyhawks left him completely open.

After Cornelius returns a UT Martin punt for 33-yards, it would take Collins two plays and 12 yards to add to the Hogs lead. Going into halftime Collins had four touchdowns on 11 carries.

The Skyhawk offense came alive to start the second half. They move the ball 83 yards to cut into the Razorbacks lead 35-21.

But, Brandon Allen's arm also comes alive in the third. Allen under pressure throws a 71-yard over the top pass to Dominique Reed on third and six for a touchdown, and a 42-21 lead. The next drive Allen will do it himself on a short run and Arkansas takes a 28 point lead in the third quarter.

Collin's fifth touchdown of the game came on a 63-yard run just before the end of the 3rd quarter to make it a 56-21 game. His fifth rushing touchdown of the game ties him for second most in Arkansas single game history.

In the fourth quarter, Austin Allen connects with Jeremy Sprinkle on his first pass for 35 yards and yet another touchdown for the Hogs.

Skyhawks score with under three minutes left, but Arkansas rolls on to win 63-28.

Collins finished the day with 173 yards and five touchdowns on 16 carries. Behind him was Kody Walker with 57 yards. Brandon Allen was 14-19 for 265 yards and two touchdowns.
