FORT SMITH (KFSM) — One man is behind bars after police responded to a shooting incident on Friday afternoon (Nov. 6).

George Holmes has been booked at the Sebastian County Detention Center without bond on suspicion of a terroristic act and aggravated assault on a family or household member, according to a press release.

Police arrived at a residence on the 7700 block of Euper Lane and spoke with Holmes’ brother Jerrill, who said there had been an ongoing estate dispute between the two siblings, the release stated.

Jerrill said his brother knocked on the door Friday in the early afternoon, and when the door was opened, George pointed a Colt .45 at him, the release stated.
