ROGERS (KFSM) — A Rogers man is filing a lawsuit against the woman who drove her vehicle into a crowd at the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade on Oct. 24., killing four and injuring dozens.
Kevin Witten, 52, was watching the parade with his daughter and granddaughter, according to a news release. He became one of the 47 injured spectators when Adacia Avery Chambers allegedly drove into the crowd while intoxicated.
Bailey & Oliver Law Firm is representing Witten, who is suing Chambers and her insurance company to determine if she has sufficient insurance to cover his current and future medical bills and lost wages, according to court documents.
Witten filed the suit in the Civil Division of the Benton County Circuit Court on Nov. 3, believing that Chambers was an uninsured or under-insured motorist.
“As a result of the collision, Mr. Witten has been permanently injured an dis in physical pain and suffering mental anguish,” said Frank Bailey, who is one of the lawyers representing Witten. “He has to pay medical expenses and will certainly pay more in the future as he recovers.”
Benton County Circuit Judge Doug Schrantz will be oversee the case.
