FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A new charter school has been approved by the state education board.

Before the full Arkansas Department of Education Board on Thursday (Nov. 12), the Future School of Fort Smith received approval.

Trish Flanagan, the founder of the school, said she is expecting the first group of 10th graders to begin August 2016 and eventually expand to 11th and 12th grade students.

The Future School website has also gone live and stated it “will be a tuition-free, public charter high school.”
