SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A Little Rock man is facing a first-degree murder charge Thursday (Nov. 12) in the death of a woman whose body was found in a Springdale apartment back in May.

Police said they found Emily Nash, 28, dead at Bailey Street Apartments the morning of May 27. Nash had a gunshot wound to her head and hand and detectives found the scene had been staged to appear like a suicide, according to an arrest report.

Antoine Jackson, 29, who had been a person of interest in the case in May, is now facing charges of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by certain persons and aggravated assault on a family household member, according to his arrest report.

Nash’s family told investigators she and Jackson had lived together at the apartment at 802 W. Bailey Avenue and found Jackson was an absconder from parole, the report states.

Investigators tracked Jackson down in Little Rock and transported him back to Washington County where he consented to a six-month sentence for absconding, according to the report.

Jackson eventually told investigators he admitted to choking the victim during an argument weeks prior to her death and a witness stated Jackson threatened to shoot Nash two days before her body was found, the report states.

While he was incarcerated on another charge, Jackson wrote a letter to a friend asking her to be his alibi, but then admitted it to investigators, according to the report. In recorded jail calls, Jackson also mentions if he ever gets out of Washington County he will never return to Northwest Arkansas, the report states.

Investigators also found fingerprint and DNA evidence placing Jackson at the scene on the murder weapon and the victim’s remains, according to the report.
