TENNESSEE — Three Tennessee high school students are facing charges – one a felony – after they attempted to give a fellow student a brownie laced with laxatives on Thursday morning (Nov. 12).

A 14-year-old male was put on a juvenile arrest petition for the felony charge of adulterated food gift after he gave the brownie to a 14-year-old female student, reported CBS affiliate WBBJ.

Two 15-year-old female students were also put on juvenile arrest petitions for misdemeanor charges of criminal responsibility for conduct for their role in making the brownies and plotting the incident, WBBJ reported.

The victim said she spotted the over-the-counter laxative in the brownie before she took a bite, the school said in a press release. She reported the incident to the school resource officer.

The three students will also be facing disciplinary measures from the Westview High school board system.
