FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A suspect is in custody following a bank robbery around 6 p.m. Friday (Nov. 13) , according to Fort Smith police.
Sgt. John Classen said Mark Martin was arrested at Walgreens located on Rogers Ave. and Greenwood Road at around 8:30 Saturday (Nov. 14) morning. He’s been taken in for questioning, Classen said.
Investigators believe Martin, 53, left the Arvest Bank on 3200 Rogers Ave. with an undisclosed amount of cash after he told bank tellers he had a gun, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
Sgt. Daniel Grubbs stated Martin had last been seen on foot, possibly walking toward Creekmore Park, until Saturday morning, when police said someone at the drugstore recognized Martin and called police.
