NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (KFSM) -- A recent survey across Arkansas has determined the safest cities in the state.
In a report released by Safewise.com, six of the top 10 safest cities in the state are in the area.
Bella Vista, Centerton, Greenwood, Gentry, Pea Ridge and Farmington all made the list.
Chad Garrett moved to Bella Vista in 2014 from the Dallas area.
“Moving here has been a huge transfer. But it has been great. We haven’t dealt with any problems around here,” Garrett said. “We don’t deal with any crime in the area that we are at. We have never had any run-ins with anybody. It has been amazing.”
Bella Vista ranked third on the list, which was judged off of cities in the state that had the lowest amount of FBI investigations.
Other criteria for the survey also included the number of violent and property crimes committed.
Only cities with more than 3,000 residents were considered.
“It is good to see that we are very safe,” Garrett said. "You don’t have to worry about things coming in, things coming out. It is very protective, and everybody around here is really nice and easy to get along with. That makes it great."
Amanda Steele moved to the area in 2014 as well. She said she had always heard good things about this part of the state.
“I have heard that it has always been safe,” Steele said. "I haven’t had any issues."
