FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Police have arrested a man on suspicion of fraudulent use $1000 to $5000.

According to a release from the Fort Smith Police Department, Dax Anderson, 41, was informed by his family that his picture was on the news as a suspect in a stolen credit card case.

Anderson contacted the assigned detective and turned himself in to the police department on Friday (Nov. 20).

Police  had sent out a release Thursday that they were searching for two suspects believed to be involved in unlawful credit card purchases.

According to a release from the Fort Smith Police Department, the man and woman were thought to have made the transactions on Oct. 7-10, 2015.

Anderson told police that he had met the female at the casino and she stayed with him for three days, but that he did not know her real name.

An elderly man had notified the police on Nov. 4, 2015 of the unlawful purchases on his credit card.

The couple may have been driving a dark in color, late 90’s to early 2000’s model Chevrolet Suburban with an unconfirmed license plate, the release stated.

Anyone with information about the above persons or know of their whereabouts is asked to call the Fort Smith Police Department at (479) 709-5100 or dial 78-CRIME.
