FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – A blocked field goal with 49 seconds remaining in the game lead to a 51-50  Mississippi State win over Arkansas at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Arkansas trailed by a point with three minutes left but the Hogs would drive down the field with just under a minute left to give Arkansas kicker Cole Hedlund a chance for the win. But the kick was blocked by MSU’s Benniquez Brown, and the Razorbacks fifth straight win was no more.

The Razorbacks overcame a 17 point deficit in the second quarter to take over the lead in the third. They would be up by 11 points heading into the final 15 minutes of the game after Brandon Allen threw with 6th touchdown pass to Hunter Henry for 18 yards. But the fourth quarter was all about the Bulldogs. Dak Prescott found Fred Ross with just over three minutes remaining to give Mississippi State a one point lead.

Brandon Allen finished the game with seven touchdowns going 30-43 for 406 yards. The seven TD was a career high for Allen, along with a single game record previously held by former Razorback Ryan Mallett.

But the performance from Allen and the offense is overshadowed by the Arkansas defense giving up 631 yard both through the air and on the ground.

Prescott finished the day 38-50 for 508, five touchdowns and one interception.
