Brandon Allen Has Record Day Despite Loss

Despite Arkansas’ loss, quarterback Brandon Allen came away with a record setting day.

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Saturday's loss has overshadowed the record setting day for Arkansas senior quarterback Brandon Allen.

Allen finished the day 30-43 throwing for 406 yards, and seven touchdowns. He set a new career high for him self for passing touchdowns in a game with his seven throws. Allen's previous high was six, which he set during the Ole Miss game two weeks prior.

But, it wasn't just breaking his own career records he accomplished Saturday. Allen broke the previous record of most touchdown passes in a single game of six, which he had tied this season, that was previously held by Ryan Mallett and Tyler Wilson. With his seven touchdowns, After Saturday's game, Allen's career touchdown passes also surpassed the record previously held by Mallett of 62. The senior now has 63, with one more regular season game left to go.

Allen is the first quarterback in SEC history to throw for six or more touchdown passes in two conference games in a season.
