This holiday season, if you're looking for something to spice things up, head to R. Landry's in downtown Fort Smith where they are bringing a flare of Louisiana to the Natural State.

When you ask around about a great place to eat in Fort Smith, R. Landry's is bound to be brought up, and for good reason. Owners Natalie Wallace and Dori Colston are carrying on a family tradition of Cajun and creole cooking that began over a quarter of a century ago.

The menu has classics such as étouffée, po-boys, Boiler platters, and a bread pudding that will keep you coming back for more.

Dori says, "I always want to have something that somebody else doesn't so that there's something different to choose from. And I always want to have Louisiana specialty as well. Our French bread is the traditional New Orleans Gambino's bread. Good stuff! We make everything. If we can't make it, we buy it better, like the Gambino bread."

But even though their food roots are from a little further south, they still keep it local too.

"I like to have a lot of local product. Not only does the seafood come from Louisiana a lot of it, but I like to have local products featured. We've got the new Ozark Beer Company, we've got the Pale Ale from Diamond Bear. A lot of time Natalie gets veggies from the area."

In true Big Easy style, they have quite the libation selection, featuring 20 beers on tap and about 80 different varieties all together. Keeping with that authentic atmosphere, they headline some awesome live music giving the restaurant a cool, laid back feel.

If want to kick things up a notch, they have a heat scale that will let you customize the the amount of spice you prefer.

With a kid's menu featuring some Louisiana classics and timeless favorites, this fun environment is family friendly.

While you're stopping in to take advantage of one of their terrific lunch specials, you can also grab some gift cards, which are on special until the New Year.

Whether you're stopping in for lunch, dinner or to have a drink and listen to some great music, you're going to lost in this New Orleans atmosphere.
