SCOTT COUNTY (KFSM) -- The Scott County Sheriff's Department confirmed that deputy prosecutor Tom Tatum Sr. was arrested on suspicion of DWI in Waldron, Ark. over the weekend.

Tatum Sr. was arrested on just before 10 p.m on Nov. 28, 2015 by Arkansas State Police. He was transported to the Scott County Detention Center to perform a breath alcohol test, according to a release from the sheriff's department.

The state trooper, Michael Lance, determined Tatum Sr. should be released without posting bond, and so he was never booked into the Scott County Jail, according to the release.

The Scott County Sheriff's Department was not in any way involved in the arrest or subsequent decision to release Tatum Sr. without posting bond, the release stated.

Tatum Sr. had a BAC of 0.12, according to the citation he was issued.

The Scott County Court Clerk's office said the arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 20, 2015 at 9 a.m.

Scott County prosecuting attorney Tom Tatum Jr. has declined to comment.

Arkansas State Police has not released any information.
