BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- Elementary school students in Bentonville got to do their Christmas shopping with a police officer on Tuesday (Dec. 1).
The "Shop with a Cop" program is when 50 students go shopping with police officers at the Walmart Supercenter in Bentonville.
The officers who volunteered their time say they were surprised by how many children bought gifts for their families before themselves.
"They don't just rush and get what they want, they go get their sisters and brothers something and grandma," said Mark Jordan, one of the officers shopping with a child. "They just don't think about themselves so that's good to see."
After shopping, all the children got to eat at McDonald's, which donated their lunch.
