BATON ROUGE, La. (KFSM) — Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee filed the paperwork for his bid in the 2016 presidential race in Louisiana on Wednesday (Dec. 2).

Although Huckabee announced his candidacy previously, his team filed the paperwork to make it official at the Secretary of State’s office in Baton Rouge, according to a press release.  His wife, Janet Huckabee, is a native of the state.

“We’re mobilizing a powerful grassroots team of Americans that are eager to burn down the corrupt Washington political machine,” said Gov. Mike Huckabee in the release. “These commonsense conservatives will carry us through the Louisiana Republican primary and beyond.”
