NORMAN, Okla. — A Norman Police officer picked up a rather peculiar passenger Tuesday morning (Dec. 1).

Officer Kyle Canaan picked up a miniature donkey that was walking the streets of a busy Norman road, according to a tweet by the Norman Police Department.

Canaan told KFOR  that he was able to get the tiny donkey, nicknamed “Squishy,” into the back of his patrol car through a combination of pushing, pulling and bribing  it with food.

Conveniently enough, patrol cars fit miniature donkeys quite well. Canaan said it was a perfect fit for Squishy and he even rolled down the window for his passenger.

However, Squishy was a little less than thrilled with his four-mile ride to the residence of Robin Strader, the homeowner who originally found him.

“It used the bathroom in the back of my police car – number two,” Canaan said. “I mean, I must have got it right after breakfast, because there was a lot.”

Although Strader was more than happy to keep Squishy, his owner claimed him and brought him home on Thursday (Dec. 3). Presumably Squishy got a different ride on the return trip.
