Greenwood Loses 6A State Title 28-21

Greenwood loses 6A Championship 28-21 to Pine Bluff.

LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) - Greenwood comes home from Little Rock as runner up in the 6A state championship game Saturday after a 28-21 loss to Pine Bluff.

It was a back and forth battle in the first half, until the Zebras took over the lead on a 25 yard touchdown pass with just over two and a half minutes left before the break. But the final two quarters were a different story, and all about defense. Pine Bluff would hold on to the one score lead throughout the entire second half.

The biggest play of the game came from Pine Bluff quarterback Ladarius Skelton who ran in a 72-yard touchdown for a 21-14 lead over the Bulldogs.

Skelton was also named the MVP of the 6A Championship game.

The last time Greenwood won a state title was in 2012.
