Unusually warm weather will be the top weather story this week with highs closing in on records near 70º late-week.
A strong cold front will arrive sometime over the weekend with noticeably colder temperatures as well ad a brief round of heavy rain.
Temperatures next week will be in the 40s with lows in the 20s. Another chance for rain and/or wintry precipitation will be possible around the middle of next week; sometime around Dec 14-16th.
In NW Arkansas, highs will continue above normal with record highs possible late-week.
In the River Valley, highs will fall below normal be early next week.
This is the large trough in the jet stream that’s headed for our region over the weekend. The timing is unknown at the moment with some data pointing to Saturday afternoon and others pointing towards Sunday morning.
Either way, a large line of showers and storms will move across the area followed by a blast of cold air.
