JOHNSON (KFSM) — The Johnson Police Department is seeking worthy Johnson families to be recipients of a special Christmas meal.

The department has been gathering toys and clothing for children in need during their “Blue Lights of Christmas” campaign, according to the Johnson Police Department’s Facebook page.

However, they were also surprised with several monetary donations, which they are using to provide “a nice surprise Christmas dinner for a special family in Johnson.”

They are requesting that the community nominate families who deserve a special meal. To submit a nomination, simply send a private message to the Johnson Police Department and tell the family’s story. Then, the family will be entered into a drawing.

The department is still accepting donations for “Blue Lights of Christmas,” which is being co-sponsored by the Johnson Fraternal Order of Police. Monetary donations can be made to the Johnson FOP account, which is set up at First Security Bank at the intersection of Main and 71 Business. All donations will go to the Christmas campaign or the dinner.

The “Johnson’s Blue Lights of Christmas” event will be Saturday, Dec. 19.
