SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – According to police, a three-hour standoff ended peacefully Monday night (Dec. 21) .

Police tell 5NEWS they had to use tear gas in order to get the suspect, later identified as Prince Fondren, out of the home.

Police say Fondren, who was recently released from prison, had a warrant for his arrest. When police arrived at the home to make contact with Fondren, the person who answered the door told officers he was hiding in the attic.

A negotiator was brought in, according to police. Negotiations failed, and the SWAT team was brought in to help bring Fondren out of the home.

Fondren was taken into custody without incident, and was arrested for the warrants, as well as Felony Parole Violation.
