BARLING(KFSM)– The city of Barling is currently experiencing a water outage after a construction crew struck and damaged a water line.
The outage was confirmed by Barling officials as well as dispatchers with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
The city of Barling says a construction company hit a water line near Sixth Street.
City employees were called in to help get the leak centralized.
It happened right in front of Joy and Jerry Helms home on H Street.
“She went to look out the back door and there was water running around. I knew they broke a main somewhere because they were drilling when we walked out here. You could see it bubbling out of the street,” said Jerry Helms.
Within a few hours crews were able to get the leak centralized and restore water to most homes.
A few are still without water but crews are working until the leak is fixed.
No boil order has been issued by the city at this point
