Arkansas Pulls Upset Of No. 13 Texas A&M

Razorbacks take down former coach Gary Blair to pick up first SEC win

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Just days after the worst loss in the Jimmy Dykes' tenure at Arkansas, the Razorbacks bounced back with one of the biggest wins for the second year coach.

Arkansas built a 12-point lead heading to the fourth quarter and then held off No. 13 Texas A&M for a 67-61 win inside Bud Walton Arena.

Texas A&M coach Gary Blair, who coached the Razorbacks for a decade, was 6-0 against his former school before the loss Thursday night.

"It was all Arkansas tonight," Blair said. "They outplayed us in every facet of the game until the end when we got 14 or 15 down. We fought back like we started to act like we were number 10 in the nation."

The Aggies cut the deficit to one in the closing minutes before Jessica Jackson converted a three-point play to put the game away.

"I don't know how many more games we'll win this year but tonight they did a really good job and I think our fans have to very pleased for us to bounce back after a 53 point knockout punch," Dykes said.

Arkansas was blown out, 85-32, in their SEC opener at No. 2 South Carolina Sunday.

Devin Cosper led Arkansas with 18 points while Jackson finished with 17 point sand seven rebounds. Courtney Walker paced the Aggies with 24 points and seven rebounds.
