MYRTLE BEACH, S. C. — A South Carolina Walmart employee had part of her finger bitten off when she approached a shoplifting customer about stealing merchandise on Monday (Jan. 11).

Two Walmart employees approached Carolynn Elizabeth Wright, 23, after they said she concealed merchandise, according to CBS affiliate WSPA.

Wright got into a scuffle with the two employees and another customer who was trying to call 911, WSPA reported. One of the Walmart employee’s had her fingertip bitten off by Wright, and it was unable to be reattached.

Wright ran to the parking lot, where a man had a car waiting, WSPA reported. She told him to “drive!” and “run!”

Wright was later arrested and is facing charges of aggravated assault and shoplifting.  According to WSPA, police recovered condoms, lubricant, panties, bra, camisole, and other clothes totaling $40.07.
