BATON ROUGE (KFSM) – It came down to the wire for the Arkansas men’s basketball team who fell to LSU 76-74 on the road Saturday evening in Baton Rouge.

The final seconds the Razorbacks missed a three pointer from Anton Beard that would have won a third straight SEC match. Craig Victor II scored the game winning basket on a rebound after an air-ball three pointer from the Tigers. Neither team however led by more than seven points in this back and forth battle.

Anthlon Bell led the team with 19 points, while reaching 200 career three pointers  in the first half. Bell was 4-7 long range tonight. Moses Kingsley had 11 points and eight rebounds as he matched up with LSU freshman forward Ben Simmons. Kingsley put on a show with two back-to-back dunks in the second half.

Arkansas struggled early in the game, giving LSU a 14-8 lead after multiple fouls. But, the Hogs found their grove and went on a 16-5 run to answer back taking a four point lead into halftime. Bell had 14 points in the first half, leading everyone on the court.

The final 20 minutes were a different story though. The largest margin on the second half was no more than five points. But the Tiger’s came out on top and snap Arkansas’ SEC win streak.

Arkansas is now 9-8 on the season and 3-2 in SEC play. The Razorbacks returns home Thursday, January 21 to host No. 14 Kentucky in a “white out” game. Tip off set for 6 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena and will be televised on ESPN.
