Centerton Man Dies In Car Wreck Near Durham

WASHINGTON COUNTY (KFSM) — One man is dead and three others were injured in a fatal car accident on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 24).

According to Arkansas State Police, James Wade Emerson, 48, of Centerton, died from injuries after his Jeep Wrangler veered off Highway 16 near Durham. He was the driver.

The ASP release stated that three passengers, two adults and one minor, were taken to a hospital.

The westbound-traveling Jeep drove off the right side of the roadway, struck a road sign and then hit a concrete culvert, according to the release.

The vehicle then rolled several times striking small trees before coming to a rest in a wooded area, the release stated.

James Emerson died at Washington Regional Hospital later that that evening.
