This map shows a measure of wind shear and instability. Notice how most of it is just to the east of our area.

Thunderstorms should break out along the front sometime late Monday evening; a few storms may be severe here but the higher risk looks to be to our immediate east.

Right now, the severe weather probabilities are low due to uncertainty; especially regarding how well the moisture is able to return to the area. The best chances are to our east.

The trend over the next 15 days shows the coldest day on Wednesday of next week. Temperatures might not make it above freezing Wednesday.

On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, the wrap around moisture will move into the area with a possibility of flurries. Right now, it doesn’t appear to be a big deal.

Beyond this system, a weaker system could affect our area on Super Bowl Sunday with an increase in clouds and cool temperatures expected.
