Siloam Springs Chasing First State Title In Nearly A Decade

It’s been nearly a decade since the Panther won their boys basketball state title. This season, these guys are determined to do that again.

SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) - The Siloam Springs Panthers gear up for another tough opponent for their homecoming game Friday night against Bryant.

"Going into the games we know we're not going to be the most athletic, but we do know we're going to play hard, smart and together," senior wing Kyle Comiskey said.

It's been nearly a decade since Siloam Springs won it's first and only  state championship. These guys are determined to do that again as they sit near the top midway through league play.

"That group that won the state tournament was made up of a lot of kids just like this group," coach Tim Stewart said. "Good shooters, good discipline, play good defense, and good team chemistry."

It will be no easy task the remainder of their schedule  which is full tough of tests.

"It means we have everyone coming for us so they can get in the playoffs," senior center Kyle Snavely said. "Even though Van Buren and Bryant don't matter against the playoffs, it's still fun to beat them. They're probably the two hardest teams we'll play this year."

The confidence for this team to bring home another title is high here in the final stretch.
