FORT SMITH (KFSM)-- On Tuesday (Feb, 2), the Fort Smith city directors decided to continue paying the utility bill at the Fort Smith Museum of History
$20,000 has been given to the museum every year to cover their utilities after an agreement that dates back decades.
Directors voted unanimously to continue giving the museum the $20,000
The executive director of the museum said she's relieved they won't have to cut any programs.
“We also offer various programs throughout the year to bring people closer to the history of their city, and I don't know that we could continue that without, you know, that's a big blow to our budget,” Leisa Gramlich said.
Mardi Gras, the museum's biggest fundraiser starts Friday (Feb. 5) at 6.
