WEST FORK (KFSM) – The City of West Fork is considering a one-cent tax increase.
The increase would help pay for renovations to the library, community center, and City Hall.
While some residents said they would support the proposal, others strongly opposed it.
The city had dozens of residents in attendance at their Tuesday (Feb. 9) night meeting. Enough residents attended, that they moved the meeting to the community center.
One resident who spoke at the event said he felt the tax increase was a feasible hike for residents.
One of the residents opposed to the tax hike encouraged the mayor to consider getting rid of the police department in order to fund the renovations.
