FORT SMITH (KFSM) – The date for the third annual Fort Smith Marathon has been set for Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, according to race director Samantha Cole.
Marathon organizers spent the day Monday (Feb. 15) picking up mile-marking signs around Fort Smith from the weekend’s races.
“We’ve got a debrief meeting next week," Cole said. "So we're already going to find out what went well, what didn't go well, what we need to change or improve from this year, and make next year even better.”
Cole said there were 1,016 runners in the second annual marathon, just seven fewer runners than at the inaugural event in 2015.
