FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A local bar has issued a statement of apology after pictures of its outdoor sign were posted on social media.

The sign outside the On the MARK Sports Bar read: “I like my beer how I like my violence…domestic.”

It has since been taken down.

The bar issued the following statement on its Facebook page:

“On The Mark is a LOCAL bar in NWA that supports and encourages healthy relationships. In NO WAY does OTM condone or accept violence of ANY kind. We apologize for offending anyone that may have interpreted a poor play on words for making light of domestic violence. We honor our guests and neighbors….and we invite you to come in and see for yourself.

Please feel free to private msg me and express any compliments or concerns that you may have.
Management”

In a comment on the post, the bar stated: “Management took it down as soon as we were aware of it . The young lady that wrote it is beside herself. Truly was just bad taste.”
