OKLAHOMA CITY (KFSM) — The rate of gun carry license applications submitted has more than doubled since the end of November 2015.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, there were 604 applications filed during the week of November 20, 2015. The most recent week listed, that of February 1, 2016, had 1712 applications.
The Bureau states that over the last couple months, several sheriffs have waved a $25 fingerprinting fee, and that could be one indicator of why the applications have increased.
The weeks prior to November 30, 2015 had numbers ranging from 551-764, according to OSBI.
