FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas has earned the title of ‘Track Capital of the World’ for a reason and it showed why during this weekend’s SEC Indoor track and field championships.

Arkansas took a lead after day one and then ran away with their 21st SEC championship and the school’s 100th conference title in school history.

“It’s pretty awesome. It’s in our DNA to win these championships,” Arkansas coach Chris Bucknam said. “We have built a great legacy with all of our alums, these banners on the ceiling — a number of conference championships that they have won in the past. We take pride, we embrace it and we try to live to that standard and these guys did that today. We lived to that standard of what Arkansas Track and Field is all about.”

Ken LeGassey took the crown in the high jump with a leap of 7 feet, 2.25 inches while Jarrion Lawson continued his dominance in the long jump with a leap of 26 feet, 7.25 inches. Clive Pullen won the triple jump for the Razorbacks but no Arkansas sprinter finished higher than third.
