FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas entered the weekend as the women’s No. 4 ranked indoor track and field program but they left it as SEC champions.

The Razorbacks ran away with their second straight indoor crown as they posted 110 points, 43 more than second place finisher LSU.

“We started to have great successes in every event in which we participated,” Arkansas coach Lance Harter said. “We continued to capitalize on the moment and the situation. When the ball gets going, it keeps going in our favor. When the distance medley went down, that crowd exploded. It almost brings tears to my eyes when that happens. It is such a cherished moment.”

Arkansas freshman Lexi Weeks took first in the pole vault as she cleared 14 feet, 8.25 inches. Weeks’ twin sister Tori finished third in the event as she cleared 14 feet, two inches.

Taylor Ellis Watson (51.84 seconds) took the title in the 400-meters while Arkansas placed second in the 4×400-meter relay.
