FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Fitness and education are being combined in Fayetteville for the sixth annual Cow Paddy Run.
The race will be held at Gulley Park on Friday (March 11) at 6 p.m.
The race is also a fundraiser, with the money going toward Fayetteville Elementary Schools. Their goal is to help children develop life-long healthy habits like running. There are no restrictions on what the money can be used for, but in the past, schools have used it for their PE classes.
Runners of all ages can participate. In addition to the 5K race, there is a 1K race for children. The 1K race begins at 5:45 p.m.
One man said he ran this race when he was 10 years old and he's been hooked on running ever since.
"The whole experience I had was so good," said Ben Putnam, executive director of the Spark Foundation. "It was really important that I made sure that kids still have that opportunity to discover running."
