FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Area FEMA representatives were set up in Lowe's in Fort Smith on Thursday (March 10) to make sure residents are prepared in the event of another natural disaster.
Besides offering tips on how homeowners can protect themselves during disasters like severe weather and flooding, they also helped people to apply for financial assistance.
"Roof damage from the strong wind, there has been some flooding where the water has come into people's homes, and a lot of washing away of from drainage ditches and affecting people's property," said FEMA representative Kathleen Reed, talking about the damage they've recently seen in the Natural State.
FEMA will have their booth set up at the Fort Smith Lowe's until next Tuesday.
