Rain is in the forecast for this weekend but it will not be a nonstop rain nor will be be a washout.

Like the last few days, the rain will arrive in waves and there are two waves that should give us the best chance for rain.

  • 1st Round:  Arrives midday on Saturday with mostly light rain showers. Ending late evening.
  • 2nd Round: Arrives in the afternoon Sunday and will be thunderstorms; some severe is possible but the worst might be just east of us.

The pesky low that’s been drifting over south Texas and Mexico for the last week is responsible for the rain Saturday.

Overcast skies will continue with light rain or drizzle likely across the area.

SATURDAY 6AM:

The day will start overcast with some drizzle possible but the bulk of the rain will be just to the south early Saturday.

SATURDAY NOON:

Mid-day into the early afternoon will be the best chance for showers. Notice how the heaviest across central Arkansas with a lower concentration in our area.

An additional 1/2 to 1 inch of rain is possible. Flash flooding and severe weather are not expected Saturday.

SATURDAY 6PM:

Rain will continue across our area with the heaviest focused to the east.

SUNDAY 8AM:

Cloudy skies are expected early Sunday with a break in the rain.

SUNDAY 1PM:

A system moving across Oklahoma will cause showers and thunderstorms to break out by afternoon.

SUNDAY 5PM:

The best chance for thunderstorms on Sunday will be in the late afternoon or evening but the highest risk of severe weather will be to our east.

The current severe weather outlook is focused on the Little Rock and southeastern portion of Arkansas.

Drier and warmer weather will arrive heading into Monday of the upcoming week.
