FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – The beauty of baseball is no game is the same as the last and that was apparent for Arkansas on Friday.

In their previous outing on Wednesday, a 15-10 loss to Gonzaga, the Razorbacks burned through 12 pitchers and allowed 18 hits. The Hogs needed just two in the series opener against Western Illinois.

Dominic Taccolini struck out nine but had to settle for a no-decision as the Leathernecks tied the game in the ninth inning before Cullen Gassaway gave the Hogs a 3-2 walk-off win with a RBI single in the 10th inside Baum Stadium.

Taccolini threw seven innings and gave up an earned run on two hits and walked two.

Arkansas led 2-0 after a Tucker Pennell two-run home run in the fifth but Western Illinois took advantage of a wild Zach Jackson and a throwing error in the ninth to tie the game.

Jackson picked up his first win of the season but also had his first blown save of the season as he threw three innings while striking out five and walked three.
