BARLING (KFSM) -- On Monday (March 28) Barling city leaders and business owners Trevor and Rachel South broke ground on the new River Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Services.
The new business sits on Frontier Road in Barling just off of the new Interstate 49. The Souths said the area is growing and they chose the location because of recent development.
"It's new and up and coming," Trevor South said. "Perfect location, easy access for trailers."
The couple said they met while in college. Trevor South is originally from Greenwood. He described the roles he and his wife will have at the new business.
"We've both just kind of got our feet wet," he said. "Rachel more for the emergency side of it and me for the general practice and large animals."
The animal hospital will feature the latest in veterinarian medicine.
"We're planning to open in eight months. That is the projected timeline for opening." Rachel South said. " Care-wise, we are just trying to focus on modern compassionate care. We are going to have the latest technology."
