FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- Thanks to another big day from Arkansas short stop Michael Bernal the No. 18 Razorbacks were able to edge Auburn 3-1 Sunday to sweep the weekend series.

Sunday’s game was not a slugfest like Saturday was, when the Hogs blew-out the Tigers 14-7, but they still did enough to barely come away with a win. The first and second inning went scoreless for the Diamond Hogs and Tigers, but in the third Auburn’s Jackson Burgreen hit a home run to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Arkansas didn’t answer back until the seventh, when Arkansas slugger Michael Bernal was at bat. Bernal hit a bloop single to center, leading to the score tied at 1-1. Then again in the eighth Bernal was at bat with the bases were loaded and the senior hit a single to give the Razorbacks a 3-1 lead. Bernal was 2-for-4 at the plate Sunday.

Arkansas closer Zach Jackson got the win for the game after he struck-out two batters and not allowing any runs in 2.1 innings. Jackson’s record improves 2-2 for the season.

The Diamond Hogs record now improves 18-6 overall and 3-3 in SEC play.

Arkansas will have a short break from SEC action to take on No. 22 Oklahoma State for a midweek game. The Hogs will be looking to improve their road record which is 0-3 right now.

The game against OSU will be Tuesday at 6:00 pm. in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
