FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A tool library will be coming to Fayetteville this weekend.

The Ozarkansas Tool Library is opening Saturday (April 2), as part of a partnership between Feed Communities and the Fayetteville Public Library, according to a FPL press release. The OTL opening is coinciding with the return of the Fayetteville Farmers Market, where the tools will be available at the Feed Communities booth on the southwest corner of the square.

Anyone with a valid library card can rent tools for gardening, farming and basic home repair for free. Each tool can be checked out for seven days, and is subject to standard library late fees and fines.

Feed Communities obtained a grant from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, which they used for the initial investment toward the tool library. However, they are hoping that the OTL will continue to grow through donations.

Donations of new or gently used tools will be accepted at the Feed Communities headquarters, located on Locust Street. Tools will also be accepted each Saturday in April at the Fayetteville Farmers Market.

Feed Communities will begin offering monthly classes on tool use and gardening, starting April 23.
