CHICAGO –A Chicago woman said she might sue the Transportation Security Administration for racially profiling her.

Karen Scruggs reported to WGN that TSA personnel stopped her at O’Hare Airport Saturday so they could search through her thickly-braided hair.

Scruggs said an agent then took her glove off and tested it through the explosive detector, which went off.

Then Scruggs said agents pulled her into a room for questioning, and she was searched with an agent going up and down her thighs.

She said the agents treated her rudely, event telling her to shut up.

When no explosives were found, the agents apologized and offered to escort her to her flight.  She declined and made her flight because it had been delayed.

Scruggs said she understands the need for more security, but believes it went beyond what was necessary.  She said she is repeatedly subjected to searches.

A TSA spokesman said racial profiling is not tolerated by the agency and is prohibited by the Department of Homeland Security.
