SPRINGDALE (KFSM) -- Two suspected gang members were arrested Thursday (March 31) after pointing a gun at a student and taking officers on a high-speed chase, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Juan Salgado-Torres, 19, and Christopher Osornio, 20, are both being held at the Washington County Detention Center, jail records show.

Police were called to 2103 Powell St., a property that includes several businesses and a gas station, just before 4:30 p.m. in reference to someone having a gun pulled on them, according to arrest reports. The caller told officers he was on his way home from school when several Hispanic men pulled up in a car and threatened him with a gun, the arrest reports state.

Police noticed the car involved in the incident moments later and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver sped away going 80 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone, according to arrest reports. The car ran a red light, passed a school zone and passed several people in rush hour and school traffic, the arrest reports state.

When the car pulled over about a mile later, the driver was identified as Osornio and his passenger was identified as Torres, both are listed as a self-admitted member of the Termite Locos Squad, according to the arrest reports. Officers also found out a gun had been thrown out the car window during the pursuit, the arrest reports state.

Police used a K-9 to locate the gun and also recovered 28 grams of marijuana, a baggie of marijuana, a digital scale, and multiple clear baggies, according to the arrest reports.

There was also a juvenile male and juvenile female in the vehicle and both were released to their parents, the arrest reports state.

Torres is facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of a schedule VI substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of a firearm and drugs, possession of a firearm by certain persons, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor. His bond was set at $2,500.

Osornio is facing charges of fleeing, reckless driving, simultaneous possession of a firearm and drugs, driving on a suspended or revoked license, expired vehicle registration, no proof of insurance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor and violation of probation or suspended sentence. His bond was set at $5,000.
