SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) --The all clear has been given and employees have returned to work after a bomb threat was reported at the Gates Rubber Factory Wednesday morning (April 6), according to police.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:55 a.m. Bomb squads immediately evacuated the employees from the factory. Roads surrounding the building were shut down as the investigation was underway.

"The police department, when they go into a building they're unfamiliar with, they're not really sure what's supposed to be there and what's not," said Siloam Springs PIO Holland Hayden. "Working with Gates and following their protocols was extremely important this morning and that's something that Siloam Springs Police Department did," Hayden said.

After multiple sweeps of the building, no devices were found and SSPD left the scene at approximately 6:10 a.m. Employees were then allowed back into the building.

Police said the investigation of the bomb threat is still ongoing. Anyone with information about the persons responsible for this threat are asked to contact the Siloam Springs Police Department Criminal Investigation Detachment at 479-524-4118.
